I have a first class honours degree in Zoology from Queen Mary College, University of London, UK.

After graduating, I wrote abstracts and articles for two parasitology journals. This is where I received excellent training in editing, proof reading, and summarising information clearly.

I then moved to the pharmaceutical industry, and I worked as a medical information officer. I became familiar with all aspects of the drug development process, and I learned the importance of communicating clinical data and key messages.

I realised that I enjoyed writing, as well as the science behind it, and I subsequently became a medical writer in a contract research organisation. After a number of years developing the medical writing services of the company, I became the medical writing manager and trained a team of writers. I subsequently held a senior medical writing position in a major international pharmaceutical company, with responsibility for key documents.

In 2001, I became a professional freelance medical writer, providing services to a variety of companies and organisations.
